Deepavali Rice Painting

Deepavali is coming next week. This rice painting is available at MidValley Shopping Mall, Kuala Lumpur as part of the festive decorations.

Deepavali is an Hindus festival celebrated by Indian across the world. This festival synonym with lots of brights and cheerful colours. We will expecting most shopping malls, roads and public places decorated with lamps, colours and other interesting decorations.

I used to enter a competition to do rice painting at university long time ago. My friends and I were the only Malays contestants while the others are Indians. Due to that reason, we gather a lot of supporters and attract the crowds. Unfortunately we loss because we don't have skills and right method in doing the painting. I would say it was a good experiences doing something new and understand about other people culture.

Beads again!

For my new baju kurung, I sew a round beads as first image above. Unfortunately I choose beads that has same colours with my baju kurung. So it does not distinctive and outstanding. I do feel a waste of time doing the beads.

Then, I remove the beads and re-sew with gems beads. Well it's distinctive but kind of awkward because it's stand alone beads. Again I feel a waste of time doing this. Of course I can stop without finishing it right :)

The funnier thing is that, I don't have enough gems beads. So my baju kurung hands has gems beads whilst at the body has round beads. But I just wear the baju kurung like nothing happened. Will re-sew the body part as soon as possible when I top-up the the gems bead. Bling bling :D

I don't know how to sew a beads for full-patterned fabric. So, just one bead each at the center of the flower.

Need to improve the skills now!

Crochet Trial

I have started doing crochet following tutorials from books. Well it was so hard for first timer especially when I'm a left handed person. If browsing all books and internets, all intruction was for right handed, Damn this world was not fair!
You may wondering why I use book instead of online for tutorial? I love colour printed books than image from internets. So much clearer and cute too. Plus, I can't stand the light from PC for much longger. What a lame reason yeah :)
I realised that it hurts my center finger when doing the crochet. Maybe because I hold the yarn so hard or my technique was wrong. Need to learn more and practising now.

Bead Your Way In Style by Beadmeplease

For beads lovers, you may want to visit this web http://beadmeplease.my/ because the beading job was superb and modern. Most of the beads used would be Swarovski and pearl. I love pearls so much and admire whom can add pearls to their beading jobs.

For the work, you may visit the web itself because I can't link the image from here.

Sharing is caring :)

Japanese Masking Tape from Uguisu

Handmadelove introduce me with Uguisu, a craft supplier which mostly produce from Japan.
I'm so interested with the Japanese masking tape. It's totally adorable and cute. Again the question arises, why this kind of products don't have at Malaysia?????
(so depressing!)
The price in dollar and accept international order. Good for us right! If compared with other suppliers, Uguisu price range is acceptable and affordable.
Enjoy!

Table Cloth with satin bias

Remember fabric that I bought as on this previous posting?

Jeng jeng, successfully turn it out as tablecloth with satin bias.

Anyway, its hard to sew the border. Required lot of patient for a amateur like me.

Love my white-pink-orange tablecloth!

Family Photo

This photo is a printed photo on a normal office paper. Originally I print it to test either the size is correct for actual printing.
But it turn out the image was quit good and I dont want to waste it. So, I do a simple adjustment to it by adding border like it was framed.

For embelishment, Iadd button to tie a large thread onto for wall hanging. Then I add some glittering syntetic diamond following the paper patterend.
Simple project for weekend!

Simple Gift Tag

Wrote this after struggling to upload image to blogspot. I hate when this kind of things happened as it totally will mess up with my mood. (burrrrpp.. sorry, to much milk while waiting the uploading process)

Anyway, I just post a simple things that I made i.e. gift tag for my friend wedding. (sigh) I don'thave hard card stock and with that reason, my tag was fragile a bit. Got to add some materials to my collection right?
